Shipping Industry

With more than 15,000 ships passing the Panama Canal every year and more to come Panama is the bottleneck of the global shipping industry. Located in the heart of Panama City METALCA is able to respond quickly to your vessel’s upcoming tasks and inquiries.

We offer our international customers the corrective maintenance of all metallic ship components while waiting for transit through the Panama Canal. We can repair and manufacture any structures such as masts, ladders, handrails, lids, doors, windows and waterproof hatches or protection guards.

Likewise we are your partner for the installation and maintenance of facilities requested for by the Panama Canal Authority ACP (e.g. Panama chocks, rails). We are internationally certified and work with marine grade steel as well as nonferrous material.

For your best convenience contact us from abroad to plan service and works in advance and to allow us the prefabrication of any necessary parts on time. Upon your arrival our experienced technicians will board your ship at Balboa anchorage or Cristobal Breakwater. If necessary we have divers on stand by for underwater operations. By the time you leave Panamanian waters the job is done. Emergency repairs and longer maintenance tasks can be carried out during sea passage and in various ports. We speak English, Spanish and German.
